I had the joy of heading out to a local recording studio, Wicked Squid Studios, to shoot the band, Periodic Table of Elephants, recording their next studio EP. The goal was to create a fast and energetic teaser video to generate excitement for the next wave of songs. At the same time this was going on, we had just released the free pack of LUTs to use on your footage. I thought it would be the perfect time to use one of these LUTs on this project.
Gear Used: Canon C300 mk II (C-Log 3 Cinema Gammut), Pocket Dolly Slider, a Manfrotto Monopod and Tripod, Two Lowel Tota 1k lights
Process: It’s a really simple technique to use RP Stock LUTs on your log footage. There are many ways to apply the LUT, but I did it in Adobe After Effects using the built-in Lumetri Color Plugin. All you have to do open the drop-down input LUT field, browse and find where you placed the _RP LUTs Vol 01_ folder downloaded from our site. Select your desired LUT look and….boom. You have a nice start in grading your footage. Now, depending on your exposure and lighting, you will definitely need to fine tune the tone and curves to achieve the style you are going for.

Show Us Yours: We would love to see what everyone has created using RP Stock LUTs. In the comments below, please post links to your videos and let us know which LUT style you used. Thanks again for your continued support for RP Stock.
